Does she qualify for gastric bypass or any weight-loss surgery?
My sister is 19yrs old, hyper tense, measures 5ft 9in and weighs 298 pounds. She’s tried all there is and nothing works. She has Carpal tunnel and bronchial asthma, no thyroid problems, everything checks out, she got surgery this past feb/2010 for a hernia in her back which left her with much back pain. she thinks surgery is the only way now that every other choice didn’t work. She was researching the gastric band, and gastric bypass but really doesn’t know which will do better and serve her purpose to achieve her ideal weight best. I know she needs to go to the doctor and discuss this with him.But what do you think? what can i tell her otherwise than “go see your doctor”? medically evidenced answers please, will vote b est answer. blessings PS: is there an online support group for undecided ppl like her?

The back injury ive been dealing with has been about 2 years now of chronic pain and im tired of not knowing what to do. I would love a forum or support group to help me stay on track on getting better. Doctors and what not are pill pushers and its very hard at the moment due to complications to see a doctor or go to physical therapy.
As for the knee i have been having on and off pain for some months now due to a knee lock my friend put me in and i didnt tap before he flipped me over.
I also am having ankle pain on the same leg as my bad knee, could this pain be related to my knee injury?

I have somthing wrong with my back for about 4 years I can afford to see a doctor to get pain medication (ULTRAM) but due to no med insurance I have been taking these meds for that period of time taking 10-15 daily. due to tolerance built up.
