Herniated Disc Causes Cervical

12/14/2010

can a herniated cervical disc cause trouble swallowing or breathing and chest pains?

my heart has been checked… it’s perfect… my stomach and throat have been checked… they’re good too. the doctor seems to believe i have a herniated disc in my neck… i have a history of them in my lumbar spine. sometimes i feel like someone is squeezing my neck and its hard to breath or swallow… and i get chest pains, but they radiate more towards the back between my shoulder blades.. please dont tell me to call my doctor because i already have… he’s very well aware of my issues. i’m just looking for someone that may have had the same problem or heard of it.

Of course you should continue to work with your doctor and perhaps a specialist if referred. However, you can also google (or yahoo) search engines to read about typical symptoms for herniated cervical discs.

Lumbar Herniated Disc Chiropractor

lumbar herniated disc chiropractor
How much is my Nevada car accident claim worth?

I live in Nevada, was involved in a rear end collision and sustained back and neck injuries. I have had CT scans, X-rays, and MRI’s all done, which concluded that I sustained a severe whiplash injury and I also have some herniated and bulging disks in my lumbar spine, along with extensive tendon/ ligament damage from the impact. I have been going to a chiropractor, physical therapy, and pain management and will hopefully be medically released in the next few weeks. I have been medically restricted from working for the last 12 weeks and have lost approximately $12,000 in wages. My medical bills have (so far) totaled up to $20,830. That is a total of $32,830 this has cost me! Being a rear end collision, the other driver was obviously at fault and I was curious if anybody might have some idea what this case could be worth?

No one here can tell you how much your claim might be “worth”. His insurance should pay for your medical bills, some of your lost wages and maybe something for pain and suffering. The insurance company is not going to hand you a big bag of cash and say “have a nice day”. You are not going to get rich from this accident

Microdiscectomy Herniated Disc

microdiscectomy herniated disc
Herniated discs – how large is yours?

You hear about herniated discs being large or huge … how large is large, how huge is huge? Just taking an informal survey.

Also, if you’ve had a “huge” lumbar herniation, did you have a microdiscectomy? How did you heal? How long did it take?

Mine is prolapsed, so squashed and the disc is hitting the nerve roots and protruding into the spinal canal. No they are not offering surgery as sometimes the pain returns double what it was. Unless I loose my bowel and bladder functions, a emergency situation, no surgery. As for healing, well the disc dehydrates with age, shrinks and looses its jelly material that is the cushion. So as I age, now 50, the disc will shrink and hopefully ten years will be no more. Until then, just keep the abdominal muscles tight, which should hold the spine in the correct position. Best of Luck

Microdiscectomy Back Surgery

microdiscectomy back surgery

Spine surgery is done on patients who suffer from back pain or pain related to the spine. Surgical procedures on the spine are of two kinds – open procedures and minimally invasive procedures. Open procedures require large incisions and muscle stripping. These procedures also require more anesthesias, operating time, and hospitalization and recuperation time. Minimally invasive surgical techniques use tiny incisions made in the skin through which small, specialized instruments are inserted. These techniques cause minimal damages to muscle tissues. Less damage means less pain and a shorter period of hospitalization. The recovery time is also less. Different types of spine surgery can be performed utilizing minimally invasive techniques. Some types of minimally invasive spine surgery use laser technology. Lasers are used to separate or eliminate tissue.

There are several causes for back pain. Once the cause is determined, surgery is done to relieve the patient of pain in the neck, arms, lower back and legs. The first step in a surgery is to make precise incisions to access the affected area. These incisions are made using laser technology.

Another use of laser is in the treatment of herniated or ruptured discs. Discectomy and microdiscectomy are terms that mean the surgical removal of a part or an entire intervertebral disc. Discectomy is an open procedure and microdiscectomy is a minimally invasive procedure to remove a herniated or ruptured disc. In microdiscectomy, a laser fiber is passed through a needle and placed into the disc to vaporize the inner core of the disc. Laminotomy may also be performed in cases of ruptured discs. The ruptured disc puts pressure on one or more nerve roots. Surgery is done to expose the nerve root by removing a part of the covering or lamina that covers the nerve root. Laser beams are used in making incisions and in removing affected parts.

Laser Surgery provides detailed information on Laser Surgery, Laser Eye Surgery, Cosmetic Laser Surgery, Laser Surgery For Stretch Marks and more. Laser Surgery is affiliated with Corrective Laser Eye Surgeries.

Lower Back Pain Nausea Dizziness

09/09/2010

Period 3 weeks late, negative pregnancy tests, help?

I was on birth control for about a month or two, but left taking it in January, since then I have had sex in the reports of one or two times a week. My period was due on February 16, but I never had. The last Once I had unprotected sex was 27 February. Ive taken 5 pregnancy tests at home (four negative and inconclusive one) and took two trials planning family, which were negative. He had back pain (especially lower back) nausea, dizziness and dark halos. Today I received my latest symptom, which is a flow of light reddish-brown. I'm also a bit constipated. I am in no way trying to get pregnant at all, and I'm worried that I might be pregnant I'm not sure is in my head. I have a gynecologist appointment in April, but I'm not sure if there is anything else I should do. Any help? I also been out in the same type of contraception for a year now, and never had similar symptoms after completion.

If I understand well, you took the pill for two months? Hormones was enough to ruin your own natural hormone cycle, and probably why you have not had a period since then. The pills work preventing ovulation, ovulation and causes the other half in the season that ends with its period. It is possible you get pregnant too, but the design did not work and you're ready to miscarriage. The discharge you see your period suggests may be ready to begin. Even if I was really pregnant, it would too early to have symptoms associated with changes of pregnancy. Back pain and nausea could also be due to fear of pregnancy and constipation. Really is not much I can do until the doctor, but wait. Since you do not want to not get pregnant, you should not have unprotected sex at all. In fact, if you do not get something, you should have sex not protected either. It is also possible that their problems are infection in the region from that. Unfortunately, at this stage, all you can do is wait for the doctor. You have tested negative, so the more likely you are not pregnant. You can continue to screen all day if you want and you want confirmation. But I think what we have here is an alteration of the cycle, because these pills and just need to give your body time to re-boot. However, even if your current period, the appointment with the doctor. If you do not like birth control pills, and then consider other forms of birth control. And insist on using condoms. Believe it or not, pregnant women is not the worst thing you can get.

lower herniated disc therapy
Herniated Disc – best kind of doctor to diagnose or treat?

I'll have had enough pain in my lower back, on the left side of my spine, and then my leg. All signs point to a herniated disc. I do not know if I should call my PCP or a chiropractor or an orthopedic doctor or what. I'm sure I can see who will give me an MRI and thankfully no physical or something, but I want to ensure that right kind of doctor. As note, do not need a referral to another person my PCP under my insurance.

Scoliosis and Flying?

My daughter recently had an operation to stop the spine and the doctors recommended that I could fly within 6 weeks. It has now been three months but I was talking with a young woman who suffered a spinal rod operation five years ago and said he traveled to Florida during the summer and back pain was terrible. As my daughter would limit the speech interesting to know whether there are other people out there who has undergone a similar operation and if the plane flies caused them any pain.

Why early flight is no risk of DVT and painless
