How to Jog Safely and Effectively to Improve Your Health and Fitness Levels

Jogging is a great form of exercise that many people enjoy which also helps boost their energy level and mood. There are challenges, though, like sticking with your program week after week. To avoid slowing your progress way down, you also need to avoid getting injured. Here are some guidelines to help you stay healthy and motivated while jogging.

Never skip your stretching either before or after you jog. You can prevent many different kinds of injuries by stretching. Your muscles need to be warmed up, and they need to be as limber as possible before you begin running. When you stretch, don’t go too far or bounce, and just focus on relaxing your body. The entire point for stretching to to avoid injury, so don’t cause them by stretching “to impress” and proceed slowly. Never push to the point of pain when you stretch, and if you do feel pain immediately and “slowly” back off.

Ideally, stretch your entire body and not just your legs, and do it lightly before and after jogging. Before you start jogging, you should consult your doctor, especially if you haven’t exercised in awhile. If you are overweight or have other health issues, this step is especially important. While everyone can benefit from jogging, your doctor may have restrictions due to your medical history. Because jogging can be adapted to work with any fitness level, chances are your doctor will encourage you to give it a try. You should still talk to your doctor first in case there are special precautions that you need to take.

You should try to do your jogging at the start of your day but you can go at any time of the day. If you go first thing then you don’t have to work about it for the rest of the day. Jogging first thing starts your day on a productive note, as well as energetic. Another bonus to jogging first thing is it gets your metabolism going for the day. And, usually, the air quality is better in the morning. You will start to notice that you have more energy throughout the day if you start out going for a morning jog.

Those that go jogging several times a week can get a lot out of it. Be sure to remember to stretch, not to overdo it, and to wear the right shoes. Use these tips as you start your jogging routine and soon you will be able to maintain it year round.

I had a strange dream last night …….. before sleep, read new yahoo?

MJ, the authorities returned part of their brain to family, so during the night I had a dream that I was about to undergo surgery on my hand and I was about to lose Deprived we've all heard the news that MJ was hooked. For the first time this dream seemed so real at night and I was very afraid to go "in" but could not stop the process of occurring, then The next thing I realized that the surgery was over and asked if the doctor had finished. In the dream, I felt pain after surgery but does not wake up instantly, as doctors say without anesthesia. What was the time of this dream ??????????????

normally the ultimate dream of something before bed. there is probably no point in the dream, but if I had to play to reduce a bit, I'd say someone in your family or circle close friends is important in pain or have surgery or something and they worried about the outcome. do not worry, everything will be fine.

Back Pain Sleeping Position

08/27/2010

back pain sleeping position
What to do for low back pain?

He had back pain for at least six years and seriously messed up four times. First Again I planted when I was dancing on a floor without carpet without shoes with hard, the second time the bike in the hills that has exploded, the third time in dancing without shoes or socks, the last step aerobics time (two trucks). When I messed up everything I can do is put on the back and the rest, Motrin and hope for improvement. My back is weak and I am very serious about my training. Do not miss it, but I do not know if it will not hurt my back even more. This is what I can do to improve the low back? My bed does not help unless I sleep on my side curled up so as not to exert pressure on the lower back / lumbar. I tried to sleep with a pillow under your knees but end up sleeping in another position because I do not sleep on my back.

Hello, I understand the back pain. I broke my back. There are things you can do. Let's start with how to strengthen it. There is something called the morning. What it does is spread your legs shoulder length of the other. You must walk, and you look back to arch. You lean your body entirely on top to either a 90 degree angle with your legs. Make sure your back is arched. Then you slowly rise. You come down slowly and little little. It is a simple exercise. You must get to the point where they do it 100 times in the morning or evening. This will strengthen the lower back slightly. This is the problem here. Ok Now let's say you have a sore back. A heating pad is a necessity. cold packs are a necessity. During the day, you have to run hot and cold. The Doctors say that every fifteen minutes, but you know what feels good, and how much time there. Motrin helps, but if you call your doctor, I'm sure you can Tylenol with that. But please look carefully. The two together should give you a relief well. As your going back is better is a good thing, but please note I said gentle stretching. This will stimulate the muscles and you need to heal. I wish you good luck and hope this helps! But please use the exercise to that can prevent future problems. Have a great weekend! Michael

Why Back crust can cause

Effects of scar tissue on back pain and leg pain
When scar tissue formation near the nerve root is called epidural fibrosis. epidural fibrosis is a common occurrence after back surgeries. This is so common that often occurs in patients with good surgical results, and patients continue to have the leg and back pain I felt before surgery. In this sense we can understand why the importance of scar tissue as a potential cause of postoperative pain is controversial. This syndrome is usually referred to as failed back surgery.
When our body goes into repair mode, the formation of scar tissue becomes part of normal healing after a traumatic injury. While scar tissue can cause back pain or leg, because it has no nerve endings, the scar tissue itself is not painful. The bond or "attach" lumbar nerve root by fibrous adhesions is the main factor in back pain or leg pain.
The term pinched nerve refers to pain or dysfunction a nerve is under pressure. The nerves that control sensations of muscle movements or relay to the brain are usually affected.
Tingling, numbness, burning or stabbing pain in the buttocks and legs or fingers in the neck and shoulders are the weapons of the first symptoms of a pinched nerve.
Sometimes, the pain and feelings are distant from the point of pressure. For example, a pinched nerve in the lumbar spine can cause pain in the calf as the only symptom. When there is damage to nerves constant pressure, pain and weakness may increase. There may be a loss of reflexes, motor skills, sensation in the affected area, and wasting (atrophy) of muscles affected may occur.
Other common causes of pain after back surgery
A complete physical examination should be performed if a patient suffers from back pain or legs continued after laminectomy or discectomy surgery. An imaging technique appropriate must often be able to locate the cause pain. There are some things you can do before or after spinal surgery have the potential to limit the formation of scar tissue on the disk device.
Each year in the United States there are approximately 200,000 lumbar laminectomy and discectomy (microdiscectomy) surgery performed. 200 000 In these surgeries, ninety percent of them have a positive outcome. Research solutions for the remaining 10% of surgical patients with continuous pain begins with an assessment of the cause back pain or leg pain.
The clinical profile of epidural fibrosis
The most common symptoms associated with epidural fibrosis is approximately six twelve weeks after the process of back surgery. Usually this is preceded by an initial period of pain relief after surgery. Over time underlying the patient slowly develops recurrent pain or back pain in the legs. The improvement can sometimes occur immediately after back surgery, but sometimes the pathology of the nerve of origin has the nerve to heal more slowly.

If the pain in the legs of patients continues after surgery, but begins to improve in the next three months, he or she will most likely continue to improve. If no improvement within three months of initial surgery, it is unlikely that has been a successful intervention. The patient continues to have back pain and leg pain.

Low Back Pain Sleep Positions

low back pain sleep positions
How can I alleviate back pain that occurs during sleep?

Hi there,
I am in my early 20s. I don’t know why my lower back (the area near the lower part of the spinal cord) hurts like hell every morning I wake up. Usually, when I wake up, I lie in bed for 5-10 minutes and I try to lie on my back or sideways to see if those things make a difference. As soon as I stand up and engage in morning activities, the pain gradually goes away. However, it hurts a lot in the morning. I have tried sleeping on the floor, changing mattresses and sleeping in different positions but nothing seems to work. I can’t afford a chiropractor right now. I wish I could sleep while standing. Do you have any idea what this might be and if there is anything I could do about it?

That sounds like pinched muscles in your back, something that loads of people have. As you work during the day your movements keep it from tightening up and you can put pain out of your mind when you have enough other things going on. But after being pretty much in one place for those hours of sleep it feels like it is locked there and has to be broken free and without the other distractions you don’t have much else to do but contend with the pain. To get rid of it is to release your back muscles and here’s how to do that:
Back:
(do from a sitting position)
Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder and find the muscles next to your spine and press on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward and to the outside of your left leg, keeping your left arm fairly straight as you do. When you reach your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, release the pressure but rest there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side.

Lumbar Microdiscectomy Patients

04/22/2009

Sciatica is characterized the pain starting in lower back and extending down to buttocks, back of the thigh and leg. It is mainly caused by irritation or compression of the sciatic nerve. It may be compressed due to herniated disc, degenerative disc disease such as osteoarthritis, lumbar spinal stenosis and isthmic spondylolisthesis. In rare cases, spinal tumors and infections can cause compression of the sciatic nerve. Patients with sciatic pain experience extreme pain as well as numbness and tingling in the leg. In severe cases, there may be incontinences of bowel or bladder. In such situation, you need to seek medical attention. There are several treatment options to get relief from sciatica.

You can choose from different treatment option, which can effectively help to give relief from sciatica. Generally, the treatment is meant for relieving pain and reducing the symptoms. There are non-surgical and surgical options for treating the sciatic pain. Some effective non-surgical options include medications, hot and cold therapy, exercises, acupuncture and physical therapy.

Medications- Anti-inflammatory medications are the first option for getting relief from sciatica. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen, naproxen sodium and ketoprofen can effectively relieve the sciatic pain. Depending upon the severity of pain, stronger COX-2 inhibitors may be prescribed. Acetaminophen such as Tylenol can be used for pain relief.

Hot and cold therapy- For effective relief from sciatica, hot and cold therapy is very useful as it can reduce inflammation. For acute sciatic pain, you should apply a cold pack to the lower back, which can relieve the inflammation of the muscles and nerves. After the first week, you may apply a heat pack, which improves the blood flow through muscles, which enhances the healing process. Application of hot packs can stimulate the sensory receptors present in the skin, which makes the brain to focus less on sciatic pain. You may also get relief by alternating hot and cold therapy. You can use ice massage or ice pack for cold therapy. Many such sessions need to be performed throughout the day to get effective relief.

Exercise- it is helpful for long-term pain relief from sciatica. Gentle stretching and low-impact exercises such as walking can help to supply the healing nutrients to the affected area and restore the function. Stretching exercises can develop flexibility in the spine and soft tissues and also brings sustained pain relief. Strengthening exercises are important to minimize future recurrences of sciatic pain. Varied and regular exercise program can give long-lasting relief from sciatic pain by strengthening muscles, reducing stiffness and improving flexibility.

Acupuncture- It is a painless medical treatment in which small needles are placed at the strategic points on the body. It can help to stimulate the nerves and releases the body’s natural painkiller called as endorphins. It is considered as a very effective treatment option for sciatica.

Physiotherapy- It is one of the most effective treatment options for effective pain relief from sciatica. Registered physiotherapists can give you proper instructions about the posture, body mechanics, strengthening and stretching and conditioning exercises, which help relieve sciatic pain to a great extent.

In addition to these non-surgical options, surgical options such as Laminectomy and Microdiscectomy can also be opted for in case of the severe sciatica pain.
