If doctors guidelines used to treat chronic low back pain, as they are intended, the chances of successful treatment in the early stages increases. Another side effect is good that people will pass by a small number of treatment until healed.

Moreover, it will cost much less cure a patient with back pain, if these guidelines are respected. As health care costs increasing every year, these guidelines provide a relief much needed authorities and patients.

I have a dull pain in my lower, right front side by my hip & my right back side under my rib cage for a few days.
I’m a active, 26 years old female & overall in good health.
I have not ran a fever, but felt sick, head aches & dizzy at times and fatigue a lot.
What could it be? Do you think I need to go to the doctor? I rather not go to the doctor unless its a have too case!

For all we know your appendix could be in trouble. Better to just get it checked out than having something serious happen. We can’t tell you anything for sure.

what is the best treatment for degenerative disc disease,and what is the real cause of pain in DDD?

i have DDD @ L5-S1 ,since 7-8 yrs, i tried many Dr. but failed to get treated,i tried accupuncture,massage, yoga,accupressure,epidural inj.,physio but none has helped, pain may go for a day or two and it comes back,seating in vajra asana in a special chair gives me some relief, but thats not the solution,i do not want to go for major surgery, so pls suggest minimum invasive surgery if available,or some best way to manage the pain without medication.

First off let me start off by saying that there is no cure for DDD. There is also not much you can do to prevent it from getting worse. Eventually, when all is said and done it will detroy every disc in your spine. There are no specific treatments for it. Stretching and maintaining your core are both very helpful along with massage. Keeping your posture straight and learning to sit, stand and walk without crouching.

The pain is primarily caused by the discs being destroyed and the vertebrae rub bone to bone. Aslo, as the vertebrae shift nerves are pinched which is very painful.

If all the non-surgical procedures have been exhausted and nothing has helped in relieving some of the pain, then surgery is most likely your only option left. You can’t avoid surgery forever. Pain meds are only gonna last for so long till they are no longer sucessful. And if none of the procedures such as epidurals, nerve blocks, radiofreqency, physical therapy, aqua therapy, and so on are not helping then I don’t think there is anything else available except surgery.

Make sure you have truly exhuasted all the non-surgical options then you may have to accept having surgery. WIth or without surgery you will always suffer from pain.

Lower back pain exercises – low back discomfort is incredibly common among people of both sexes (over 80% of us suffer from it), but women especially tend to experience lower back pain thanks to pregnancy, carrying around groceries and kids, plus the ranges of motion required by the different tasks they perform every day.

In order to deal with low back injury, it is important to do stretching and strengthening exercises to help find severe back pain relief and prevent further symptoms.

There are two reasons lower back pain exercises are the best way to relieve and prevent lower back pain:

Exercise helps to strengthen and increase the flexibility of the low back muscles, meaning that the muscles are better able to handle the movements made in the average day.
Exercise removes some of  the tension from the low back muscles, and the stretches that accompany an exercise program helps to loosen up the muscles

If you are experiencing lower back pain, your first line of treatment should definitely be to do lower back pain exercises to help reduce the pain as well as prevent it from returning. Not only do strengthening and stretching exercises help keep your low back disorder from recurring, but they help speed recovery from any backache you may already have.

As always, consult your family doctor before you start any new program of low back pain exercises.

There are a number of strengthening exercises that you can do, and each one has its specific benefits for your low back. In only 15 minutes a day, these treatments are beneficial to recover from and prevent future injury. The health benefits go well beyond any investment of time or effort:

Abdominal Crunches are great low back pain exercises to help strengthen your core muscles. They help to strengthen and stretch your lower back muscles as much as they do your abdominal muscles.  Abdominal support is more important for improved back fitness than most of us realize.

Wall Squats are performed by pretending to sit with your back against the wall and your legs pushing you against the wall to support your weight. This exercise helps to work out your lower back and legs, giving them the strength needed to support your low back.

By raising your leg straight out in front of you and holding it there for 10 seconds, you are working out your upper hamstrings and lower back. You are also stretching your back and legs, and alternating legs ensures that both sides of your body get a thorough workout. This is particularly good as one of the lower back pain exercises you should do on a daily basis.

Pull a knee in to your chest as a stretch to loosen up the muscles in your hamstring and keep your lower back flexible. Alternate knees to loosen up both sides, and make sure to pull the leg tightly and stand straight for the most effective stretch.

Place your feet together and slowly stretch out over your legs and straight down, hold for 15 to 30 seconds. Be gentle, don’t bounce up and down. Just let the stretch happen. This will stretch the lower back muscles and help to improve and straighten your vertebra.

Get down on your hands and knees, and extend an arm straight forward. Extend the opposite leg straight backward, and keep your head steady. Alternate legs. This exercise is perfect to stretch and strengthen the lower back, and will help you build strength and regain mobility.

Lie on your back, knees bent to place your feet flat on the floor. Place your hands at your side and lift your rear end and hips off the floor with your back muscles. Roll as high onto your shoulders as possible, and hold for 10 to 15 seconds.

Lie on your back and bend your knees to place your feet flat on the floor. Place your hands on the floor beneath your shoulders and use your hands and knees to lift your  body off the floor to form a table shape. Hold for 20 to 30 seconds before going down to the floor.

Low back pain is a common musculoskeletal disorder causing back pain in the lumbar vertebrae. It can be either acute, sub acute or chronic in its clinical presentation. Typically, the symptoms of low back pain do show significant improvement within two to three months from its onset. In a significant number of individuals, low back pain tends to be recurrent in nature with a waxing and waning quality to it

Back pain affects 80% of Americans at some time in their lives. It comes in many forms, from lower back pain to neck pain to sciatica. Back pain is not a diagnosis — it’s a symptom of an underlying condition.

Causes of  Low Back Pain
Anyone who has ever suffered from a bad back will know how much pain and discomfort can be exacerbated by a poor mattress, but it is not just those with existing back complaints who can benefit from a good mattress; back pain may actually be preventable by investing in a good quality mattress and bed.

Muscle strains are the most common cause of low back pain. Patients may or may not remember the initial event that triggered their muscle spasm

Some of the more common causes of lower back pain are:

Symptoms of  Low Back Pain

Symptoms in the low back can be a result of problems in the bony lumbar spine, discs between the vertebrae, ligaments around the spine and discs, spinal cord and nerves, muscles of the low back, internal organs of the pelvis and abdomen, and the skin covering the lumbar area. Pains in the upper back can also be a result of disorders of the aorta, chest tumors, and inflammation of spine.

Treatment of  Low Back Pain
Sleeping with a pillow between the knees while lying on one side may increase comfort. Some doctors recommend lying on your back with a pillow under your knees.

Stay active – It’s important to return to your normal level of physical activity as soon as possible. Staying active will help your back to get better, and reduces your risk of getting simple back pain again.
Stay positive – remember that back pain usually goes away quickly.

Safely issues – Many CAM treatments are believed to be safer and to have less side effects than conventional treatments, especially pharmaceutical treatments. But side effects are often only discovered after very large extensive studies have been done or even after they have gone to market. A CAM treatment may have not been studied extensively enough to uncover potential safely issues.

How I can find my new job, I can not go for the first few days due to severe back pain?

Backpai break and may need go to the doctor about this. I worked for the company before and now again, I had doubts and now I have back pain that persists, and fever. I worry that it could be related to the kidneys, but the money does not go to doctor.

Just be honest and I hope they can understand. Roll out each morning to help to relax the muscles. Hot tubs with a gentle massage can also help. hot ice patches are excellent for pain. and can be placed anywhere. my back has been hurtting since friday, but i believe i’ve stressed it a lot. I’ve been doing my back walkover alot. So it might be triggered by strain. Please help my out with advice to relief it. ANYTHING stretches or just anything thing. Im going to rest until around 6:30 then i have cheer practice, so please i really need your advice. Thanks in advance

Take ibuprofen, use heat pads or a hot water bottle on the area it’s painful. Look elswhere on the internet for stretches that could help out (I don’t know any, sorry) and try to sleep in a good position for your back, which can also be found on the internet. Google it xD.
