Bladder pain, symptoms feel better with cipro what can this be? im a 16 year old male?

I have had bladder pain for 1 year now without a diagnosis. first it was just pain with urination all of the time that got better wiith cipro. then, it started spreading to my buttox and down mostly my left leg but also to the right. it hurts to pee, poop, masturbate, and fart. I feel pain in my inner thigh, back of the hamstring, and in the side of the leg. I have had hundreds of uranalysis in which all have come back negative. doctors dont know what to do. If i stop taking cipro the pain comes right back, while im on cipro the symptoms are tollerable. I recently have been tested and i am defficient in vitamin d. could that be part of this?

Vitamin D3 deficiency is becoming an epidemic. U.S. RDA are much too low & the prescription vitamin D supplements are the wrong type (ergocalciferol ). Luckily you can buy vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) and the upper limits are extremely high. Current recommendations are for 35iu per pound – a 200# person needs minimum of 7000iu per day & the rda is 400iu. This amount is for minimal needs and does not account for depleted stores. Right now (March) is when our stores are at their lowest.

I personally have been doing 30,000-50,000iu per day for the past month trying to refill my stores. It is highly recommended that you have your vit.D levels tested but my research shows toxicity only at outrageous, long term levels.

Low Vitamin D levels greatly increases your risk of cancer, diabetes, MS & heart attack.

I would also suggest you research iodine supplementation.

Take Steps To Prevent Exercise Injuries

If you want to lose weight, you definitely need to exercise, but the one thing that you do not want to happen to you is an injury.  This is something that will ruin your routine, cause pain, and add to your medical bills especially if it’s a somewhat serious injury.  When you do exercise, you need to do your best to prevent all these injuries.

In order to do this, you need to start off with having proper form.  There are thousands of different types of exercises.  Each one of them has a proper form that you should be following in order to do the motion in a safe way.  Use a mirror and look at your motion or have someone critique you so that you can perfect your form and stay safe.

Stop an exercise if it becomes too painful especially if it’s joint pain.  You will feel some of your muscles be challenged, but pain is much different.  If you aren’t sure stop so you don’t hurt yourself.

Be sure that at some point during your routine that you stretch.  Some argue that stretching before is best while others argue that it’s best to stretch afterwards.  Regardless what you believe, stretching is needed to prevent injury.

Drink plenty of water.  Many injuries can be cause from being too dehydrated.  You don’t want to have heat related illnesses and lack of water especially on the hot summer days.

You need to have a warm up and a cool down with each workout.  This will give your body time to be challenged and a point where you can relax a bit before stopping.

Listen to your body.  If you are too sore or in too much pain to work out that day, don’t do it.  This isn’t to be used as an excuse.  Only do this when it’s real pain.

Padding in your shoes is important to reduce impact.  Protect all your joints as best as you can.

2nd opinion about back pain?

I have a herniated disc that is compressing my nerve in my L4/L5 region and my back doctor has said that it is a pretty bad herniation. I also have some narrowing of the spine and arthritis in my lower back. I am only 21 years old, female, and about 15 pounds overweight. I have had 2 facet joint block injections in my back with celestone and it has offered me no relief, and I experience an increase in pain afterwards. I recently saw a back surgeon and he said that I am not a candidate for back surgery, which is fine by me because I think that I am way too young to have any surgery. However, I experience excrutiating pain when I sit down that travels into my hips and down the front of my legs. Sometimes it gets so bad that I cannot sit for more than ten minutes at a time which is a problem because I am still in school. Is there any other treatment out there besides these injections that I should ask my doctor about, should I go to a different specialist?

Try a TENS unit. I have one by Empi, and it makes a huge difference. When I am wearing it (and have taken my meds), I can actually be pain free, and my back issues are very similar to your own.

Have you ever had to endure — even for just a few moments — an annoying and often nagging pain along the side of your leg?

Then you may be suffering from sciatica which results from the sciatic nerve fibers being compressed. These nerve fibers run from the lower back in the lumbar region and through the sciatic foramen, behind the thigh and down your legs towards your feet.

Some people have found inversion table therapy to offer some lower back pain relief.

Inversion tables are specially designed tables that permit the patient to hang upside down or at an angle in an effort to alleviate back pain. Sometimes, gravity boots are used in conjunction with the inversion table. In a way, inversion therapy is similar to spinal traction or spinal decompression therapy.

Although traditional western doctors are sometimes reluctant to recommend inversion tables or inversion therapy for back pain, there are claims that it can be effective. The reasoning or principle behind the treatment is simple. Much of the back problems people have are the result of aging – in other words – living a long time with gravity constantly pulling down.

The idea behind inversion tables is that your weight is turned upside down (or at least angled) and by having your weight suspended from your lower body you are putting equal and opposite gravity pressure on the joints and spine. Therefore, in effect, you are doing the opposite of what happens naturally — the constant “weighing down” on the body by the pull of gravity when you are standing upright. This is intended to reverse or reduce the pressure on the discs between the vertebrae and help reduce the wearing down, or degeneration, of those discs.

Another type of spinal therapy device that is gaining popularity is the DRX9000. This machine is a kind of sophisticated traction table that employs a computer-controlled oscillating pull-and-release motion to relieve stress on the spine. According to the manufacturer Axiom Worldwide of Florida, this special oscillation motion prevents the body from going into spasm which is what can happen with traditional constant-force type systems like traction tables and inversion therapy systems.
