Back Pain Tingling In Legs

Back pain has led to tingling and numbness in legs?
I hurt my back assisting a client a work a week ago and have been in terrible pain ever since. I have been to the doc three times this week and had massage accupuncture and cupping. Today I was extremely dizzy and nearly fainted twice. Told my doc but he said it is pretty normal or that might be the pain killers. Now my right leg and foot is tingling and I have sharp pain in my neck. I am just really scared. Im only 26
It could be a disc injury. This needs to be treated with rest. Ice the area also. It is likely that this area will remain a weakness for you even after you recover, so bear that in mind when at work in the future – or when you do any physical activity.
Any numbness and referred pain can be scary. I myself have disc prolapses and sufer from left leg numbness and tingling regularly. Sometimes it is ok, but then it flares up again. Understanding why you are experiencing this referred pain in your leg will probably help you not only be less afraid, but also manage your recovery better too.
Therefore, simply ask your Doctor for an MRI scan. An x-ray is no good as you will need to have the soft tissue structures in your spine looked at, an MRI is needed for this. Visit a osteopath or physical therapist also. They will give good advice.
There are some potential emergency situations which can arise from a disc injury, although they are rare, so please do not panic. A Physical Therpaist can rule these out. In fact disc problems are extremely common, especially in younger people (you mentioned your age) as we have more ,fluid filled discs, and therefore they are worse when they rupture out and compress nerves in the spinal spaces. I am only 28, but had mt first disc injury aged 14!
Good luck, and always listen to your body’s pain signals, it is very good at telling you when to stop and rest. Like it is telling you right now.
