lower back pain numb leg
why am i having lower back pain and weakness in my left leg?

I been having this pain for about 3 weeks now.my left leg will feel weak and numb at times(not thru the whole day).My lower back hurts all the time.At first the pain wasnt that bad but now it hurt so bad that even when I touch my lower back it hurts.I cant put no pressure on it at all,it even hurts when I lay on my back.
Does anybody know what I could have? How can I get rid of this pain?how long does it take this to heal?
somebody please help me out
Im not too sure but I think I might of gotten this from playing basketball

Well, judging from personal experience, I would say you have a bulging disc and probably some protrusion. In other words, a pinched nerve. An MRI will show the damaged area. Mine are at L4 and L5 (lower back). Have you been doing some strenuous exercise, switched jobs, or maybe you helped your best friend move last weekend! Car accidents are good for screwing up your back also, but mine is from football and years of doing contracting work constantly lifting heavy objects. The WRONG way I might add! It could be something else, but chances are you have a disc problem. GO SEE A DOCTOR! They will probably send you to a neurologist who will then want to stick a needle in your spine (epideral) or maybe even try to talk you in to surgery. Mine has a 1-3% success rate, so I started taking LOTS of pain medication, got hooked and had to go through re-hab to get off of the narcotics. Finally, I ran across this stuff called Monavie which has a berry in it called acai. Maybe you have heard of it? Anyway, they say it may some day cure cancer. I don’t know about all that, but I sleep like a rock now and I can actually tie my own shoes in the morning again! I found it on this website

Check it out and good luck! Try to stay away from the narcotic pain meds whatever you do!
