Can a compression fracture of the L1 in the back cause a lifetime of pain?
I am an over the road truck driver who injured my back in Sept og 2006.I fell and recieved a compression fracture in my back.I have had all the regular test they do.I have also seen 2 nuerologists.Their comp doctor said I am temporarilly disabled and mine said my compression fracture has healed and also their doctor said I had 2 herniated discs.I am going to physical therapy and it is causing me to hurt more.My family doctor got tot see my c/t scan which the other didn’t and said it by no means look normal.I hurt everyday,with leg pain and buttocks pain along with back pain and numbness.I would like to know if this type of injury makes some people disabled and they can’t return to work,which would hurt me deeply.I love what I do and not to be able to travel the way I did would hurt me in a very bad way
1. Get an orthopedic surgeon out of your area and get evaluated- you need an MRI of your back to truly decipher your disc problems.
2. get an attorney– it sounds like in the near future you will be fighting with workers comp so be prepared and get a lawyer that is out of the area so there is no monetary ties to your company.
